The lovely
Melissa Joy Manning celebrated the opening of her new
4500 square foot flagship store at 12 Wooster Street last week. The
sustainable jewelry designer achieved her dream green space with the help of a
Kickstarter collection which ultimately helped fund this amazing multi-functional space. "I just really wanted to create a vision for the brand that was tangible so people could understand where we're coming from,” said Manning. The
space will carry other sustainable designers and friends of Manning such as
Pamela Love,
Blair Brown,
Judy Geib, and
Mark Davis. We are huge fans of the brand (we carry it at our Larchmont location), and absolutely love Manning’s green and sustainable vision. To Manning, knowing the source and origins of all her raw materials is incredibly important—and she is inspired by the beauty and shape of her organic, raw materials, resulting in an earthy and edgy look. Manning has said that "[her] jewelry is not an accessory, but an expression”—she believes that all jewelry can evoke emotion and can mean something different to each individual that wears her pieces.
