Peridot Style: Putting It All Together for Fall

If your BFF isn't the jewelry editor for your favorite fashion 'zine, giving you the heads up on new designers and seasonal product as it rolls through the halls of Hearst on the daily, then Team Peridot is here  to "daylight" as your most fashionable friend.  And every girl needs a gal pal like that. Sometimes translating current trends means layering in a new piece to the necklaces you already wear everyday, and sometimes it's about adding natural diamonds to stack in with your traditional bridal set.  And yes, sometimes it's even a whole new statement earring or long, faceted strand of fine stone. The right shade of nail lacquer (pictured earlier: Essie's "Picked Perfect") is as much a staple this September as leather fringe, cozy wrap sweaters, and vintage designer chain link purses.  We're also seeing a huge pick up in pearls, whether on handmade gold ear wires or more casual cord necks. Fall Trend Report

Although faint, that familiar crisp has returned to the late summer air.  It smells the way biting into a freshly picked apple tastes and feels, and it layers well with light weight scarves, jean jackets, natural diamonds and refined gold chains.  With the changing leaves and turn of seasons, September brings freshly forecasted Fall Trends.  Below, our official report on how to wear what this Autumn, and it's pearly, pendanty, and perfectly Peridot.  Featuring new works by Temple St. Clair, Yasuko Azuma, Rosanne Pugliese and Margery Hirschey, curated especially for those weekends upstate picking wine saps and pears, or for roaming around SoHo with the obligatory Pumpkin Spice beverage in hand. Fall Trends!

[caption id="attachment_18" align="aligncenter" width="300"]73c5261731c82107f081f59f029447c8 fall in new york city.[/caption]   Is there anything people love talking about more than how much they LOVE fall?! It truly is magical though: the way the sun hits the slowly browning leaves at around 4pm, piping hot pumpkin spice lattes (cliche, we know), mahogany leather and cashmere, boots, and deep-jewel tones for your wardrobe and of course--your jewelry. Thankfully, rich yellow gold is PERFECT for the burnt-sienna theme of fall, and it seems as though the maple colored leaves are influencing our designers for fall 2013... First off--and we've been gushing about this a lot--we are absolutely obsessed with cognac diamonds. Of course, a white diamond will never go out of style--after all, a diamond IS forever--but why not check out a gorgeous, deep, chocolate-colored alternative? Cognacs are warm, inviting, and give off an eye catching hue that is hard to not love. Anne Sportun, a favorite of ours, is a fan of cognacs, as is the lovely Caroline Ellen. [/caption]   Riffing off of the champagne, chocolatey diamonds, we are also loving our new Jamie Joseph smokey quartz and brown sapphire necklaces--the dark illustrous tones are flattering on absolutely anyone not to mention incredibly eye catching. Jamie Joseph is a pro at finding colorways for every season--her stones are unlike ANY we've seen before. They're all one-of-a-kind, and Jamie quite literally crafts her designs around each stone--continuing with our smoky brown/cognac theme, we're loving this faceted Carnelian ring, as well as this--and we're not making this name up--rose-cut Blood Tiger's Eye oval cocktail ring. Don't you wish you had 100 fingers to wear every single one of Jamie's designs!?
