Golden Joinery from Jamie Joseph

Seattle-based jewelry designer Jamie Joseph has done it again!  Recently launching The Golden Joinery Collection, Jamie's luxury selection highlights gemstones fused together with 22K gold much like the traditional Japanese art of mending pottery - Kintsugi. Known for her carefully selected gemstones, each piece of rough is also hand-cut and re-polished in the Jamie Joseph Studio. In this hand-cutting & polishing process, gemstones do occasionally fracture leaving behind unusually shaped remnants of spectacular color and quality. The art of Kintsugi allows the designer to up- cycle and rethink the casualties of design. It offers something new and innovative in the fine jewelry space all the while creating a new sustainable approach to material sourcing. Marrying the gemstones in this innovative technique further adds to the artisanal signature for which Jamie Joseph is renowned. Open-back settings showcase a thoughtful 360-degree composition with golden-joined fissures visible on the inside and outside resulting in a collection complete with precious imperfection. Introducing: Colleen Mauer

It’s no surprise that San Francisco native Colleen Mauer first found her design bearings in the realm of furniture, evidenced in the subtly industrial style of her metalwork.  Inspired by texture, color and even “sound”, Colleen’s designs compliment day to evening looks and everything in between.  Celebrating simple geometries that are both casual and chic, classic and of-the-moment modern, it’s easy to see why we were drawn to this collection!  Play around with stacking rings and bangles, every piece from Colleen Mauer begs to be mixed, matched, and worn again and again. rings.galore.small_R33x.B83x.small_  B+G.bangles.galore.small_N276x.small_

The New Pearl

If you haven't gotten the memo, pearls are oh so back! Not that they necessarily ever went out of style, but this time around designers are creating innovative new pieces that stray away from the traditional freshwater pearl necklace. Here's a glimpse of the trend.... long tahitian necklace by Lena Skadegard, and tahitian pearl pendant necklace, mother of pearl earrings and pink pearl ring all by Jamie Joseph. Head to our site to find more pearls by both designers, or as always give us a call at (914) 833- 7333 for further inquiries!   pearl pic

Jewelry, Adorned.

[caption id="attachment_375" align="aligncenter" width="600"]Pave Diamond and Yellow Gold Wing Ear Cuff by Adina Reyter Pave Diamond and Yellow Gold Wing Ear Cuff by Adina Reyter[/caption] The new trend in jewelry is adorning yourself in places beyond the typical locations--midi rings, ear cuffs, hand bracelets and more are joining the rankings among earrings, rings, and bracelets. Emma Watson, Zoë Kravitz and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley; Suki Waterhouse and Joan Smalls each wore several ear cuffs to the recent Met ball, Brooklyn-based destination-jewelry store Catbird has popularized midi-rings, and the pinnacle of urban-cool, designer Pamela Love rocks what she calls "handlets" all the time.  “The trend is to adorn your body,” designer Paula Mendoza told Women's Wear Daily, “Women want to wrap their whole ears and hands, and eventually their whole body. I see a real Egyptian tradition reflected in that.” We love this frontier of new jewelry trends--innovative and unusual designs are what catches the eye nowadays--who knows? The days of the pearl or diamond stud might be long behind us...
