YASUKO AZUMA
Yasuko Azuma launched her collection in 2003 with her husband Richard Ito. Working with rich, earth-toned diamonds and soft, brushed gold, Yasuko consistently creates pieces that marry her own soft spoken elegance with bold femininity. Yasuko's work invokes old world motifs, intricate Japanese patterns, and the refined movement of a dancer in order to create pieces that enhance the diversity and inherent beauty of the women who wear them.
HANDMADE IN BROOKLYN
Yasuko Azuma creates her exquisite, nature-inspired jewelry in her Brooklyn studio, where every piece is hand-carved and hand-finished. A native of Sapporo, Japan, Yasuko moved to New York in 1994 to study jewelry making, later launching her collection in 2002 with partner Richard Ito. Her signature style is defined by two techniques she mastered: delicate hand piercing and a unique "Diamond Dust" texture.
She has a particular love for earth-toned natural diamonds and other stones, which are all non-treated and conflict-free, and sets them exclusively in heavily textured 18k gold made from 100% recycled materials.
