Jewels for Jetsetting!
Are you one of the lucky ones going on spring break? Or day dreaming about your Memorial Day weekend plans? If so, don't forget to pack your jewelry! We picked out a few great options to bring with you...
This beauty is a piece by Rosanne Pugliese. Made from 22 Karat yellow gold and oxidized sterling silver, this modern link chain reads organic elegance. The cognac diamond detail also gives the necklace a refined feel. This piece is perfect for trips because it can be worn at its longest (about 34"), or wrapped around your neck twice. Give your white tee an edge with the doubled necklace during the day, and simply let it hang at its longest and add some heels to change up your look for the evening. Shop here: http://bit.ly/1EsN5xw
These sterling silver earrings are a Melissa Joy Manning classic. These guys are perfect to bring with you because they're extremely light and a fun twist on a hoop. Shop here: http://bit.ly/1PjszkH
A third option for your weekend getaway is this Anne Sportun wrap bracelet. Pictured above is our labradorite version, however, they come in several other stones including ruby, hematite, citrine, pyrite, carnelian, moonstone, spinel, turquoise, and lapis. This piece is brilliant because it can be worn as a wrap bracelet (approx. 5 times around your wrist) OR a necklace. It's safe to say this piece is a Peridot favorite. Need a safe place to store these pieces during your trip? Try our very own Peridot pouch! Available with or without middle seam. In store only.

Designer Q&A Series: Anne Sportun!
We would love to give you all the opportunity to peek behind the curtain of Peridot, into the minds and lives of our unbelievably talented designers. Kicking off our designer Q&A series, we sat down with the lovely and oh-so-talented Anne Sportun. Based out of Toronto, Anne seeks to translate the subtle beauty of organic forms in nature into her work. Her pieces combine the precious with the everyday, resulting in effortlessly sophisticated work that every woman looks wonderful in.
-What is your favorite piece of jewelry? From my one of a kind work, I have a large round champagne coloured diamond I adore. It is set in a channel halo in white gold. It makes my heart skip a beat each time I wear it. My other piece of favorite jewellery from my production work is my large Stardust ring in white gold—I wear it on my right hand middle finger.
-What is your guilty pleasure? Cheese, I would choose it over chocolate.
-What are you currently reading? The Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt.
-Favorite movie? Face Off or The Italian Job…I like car chases!
-What was the first piece you ever designed? The first metal pieces I ever made were in my Dad’s workshop in the basement of our home. I would texture brass and tin, solder them together to make earrings. I designed a pair and gave them to an artist in residence in my grade 13 art class—she was a sculptor and silversmith and influenced me hugely. It was she who inspired me and showed me that I could do this as a career. I was 17.

-Artists you’re currently listening to: I never tire of Jack Johnson
-Any jewelry you never take off? My wedding ring and my hematite wrap bracelet
-if you had another career, what would it be? An archeologist
-Favorite vacation spot? Rome

Meet Goldsmith and Gem-Guru Annie Fensterstock
Annie Fensterstock is a master goldsmith with a distinct style that is difficult to discover elsewhere. Using a style reminiscent of ancient artisans, her particular technique dates back centuries, while her style remains incredibly current and modern.
Annie uses delicious and rich candy colored gemstones that sit beautifully amongst her radiant yellow gold and dark and moody oxidized metals. Her work ranges from gorgeous eye-catching ornamented pendants, to simple hammered wedding bands and diamond encrusted engagement rings. Annie has been quoted to say that, through her work, she seeks “to re-imagine and reinterpret the past,” and fuse the ancient world with the vitality of the modern world--and we just love that that. Annie’s bold aesthetic is unlike anything else, her stones deliciously unusual, and her pieces unique and show-stopping.
