We are in awe of Peridot’s own Jessica Hendricks. At only 25, her initiatives with the Brave Collection have been incredibly heart-warming—she has spread awareness, sparked conversation and has planted the seeds of change immeasurably with her signature “Brave” bracelets.

While teaching English in Thailand, Jessica traveled to Cambodia, and was struck by the beautiful and heartbreakingly violent past of the small Buddhist country. She witnessed the current reality in Cambodia—young girls as items for sale on the streets—and was ignited by a passion to create an opportunity to counter these wrongs. Jess was shocked to learn that slavery still exists today, and so many young girls are falling victim due to human trafficking. She wanted to find a way to fight for them. A Brave bracelet connects our local community to Cambodia—fusing our worlds and creating a global connection and awareness.

Each intricately woven piece of jewelry is handmade by a skilled Cambodian artisan, who infuses each piece of jewelry with a history and culture that we receive in each individual Brave bracelet.
